2) What is the initial total project cost for my store?
Golf Etc. has 2 turnkey models – Golf Etc. and Golf Etc. Tech Studio. The model available in a specific market is based on the area’s demographics and demand.
The Golf Etc. model is $179,500 (3,000-4,500 square feet). This includes a core inventory of $25K, a $15K franchise fee, the build-out of your interior after you receive your leased “white box” (painted, lighted, carpeted and heated/air conditioned leased retail space), a loft & lie machine, a full service repair center, a full service club-fitting bay with a state-of-the art launch monitor and simulator. The average total project cost for Golf Etc. stores range from $300,000 and $400,000. This includes the initial $179,500 Golf Etc. package, described above, plus working capital and additional inventory for your store.
The Golf Etc. Tech Studio model is $129,500 (1,500-2,200 square feet). The average total project cost ranges between $195,000 to $225,000. Our Tech Studio model focuses on fittings, service and repairs, with smaller inventory levels and square footage. SEE PICTURES.
Golf Etc.® does not have a “Net Worth” requirement. However, the prospective store owner must have at least $40,000 to $125,000 liquid resources available to invest in the store or 20% to 30% of the total project cost, depending on the model. Examples of sources include: cash on hand, IRA accounts, home equity loans, investors, friends and relatives.
Golf Etc.® of America does not offer any direct financing. However, we will assist you in presenting your loan package to the lender of your choice or 3rd party financer.
With your assistance (i.e., information gathering and fact finding), Golf Etc.® will prepare a comprehensive business plan complete with a 5-year pro-forma projection, market and competitive analysis.
The initial franchise fee is $15,000 (included in the $179,500 Golf Etc. package price), the lowest in the industry.
Golf Etc.®’s royalty rates are based on the size of your store. Currently, the rate is based on $.35 per square foot (i.e., a 2500 square foot store’s royalty would be assessed at $875.00 a month), the lowest in the industry.
Golf Etc.® provides you with a ready-to-air television commercial, plus a new commercial periodically. We also provide samples of various radio advertisements, print ads and a point of sale package. Our competitors charge you a percentage of your store’s gross sales as an advertising fee to go into a central advertising fund. In other words, you pay for other store’s advertising. At Golf Etc.®, you apply these funds to your own advertising, in your own market where it benefits you directly. You have the freedom to set your own advertising budget and choose the media in which to advertise for your retail store.
Yes, Golf Etc.® has technical and management assistance by a dedicated team of professionals.
Golf Etc.® Retail / Fitting Centers range in size from 2,800 to 4,600 square feet, depending on your location.
Our comprehensive training is a two-week program that takes place at our corporate headquarters in Granbury, TX and at GolfSmith headquarters in Austin, TX prior to your store opening. In addition, Franchisees will spend at least two (2) days training in an existing Golf Etc. Retail / Fitting Center.
Generally, our stores open within 4 to 8 months from signing the purchase agreement and securing the territory.

Upon receipt of your completed Retail Data Application, we will review and determine whether you are approved to receive our Franchise Offering Circular(FOC)which outlines our agreement, company history and financials. Enclosed with the Franchise Offering Circular (FOC) is a Purchase Agreement. By sending us the signed Purchase Agreement, along with a $15,000.00 franchise fee/deposit, you engage us in the process of opening your store, along with purchasing your territory.
The next steps in the planning process include: setting up the comprehensive business plan (market and competitive analysis along with 5 year financial projections), financing with Golf Etc. National SBA preferred lenders or your own lenders (if needed), business entity and license set up, site selection and lease negotiations, various comprehensive training sessions, inventory set-up and management, design and layout of the store, plus other additional steps to open your store.
